Taman Cendana is a very well and centrally located housing development, well connected by major roads. A major disadvantage however lies also in its accessibility; as many people use these access roads as well, residents can usually expect their way home to be congested, with the congestion on Jalan Besar being the worst. Taman Cendana allegedly used to be a far better area to live in, before the low cost developments catering to foreigners such as Nepaleans and Indians from India who work in the Pasir Gudang factories close to the neighbourhood was built. Since their arrival, there have been reports in the newspaper of unsavoury run-ins with the existing community which could only be resolved with police intervention.Taman Cendana which was once a safe and peaceful place to live in is now deemed to be an insecure area due to the arrival of the foreigners who allegedly drink themselves drunk at night and pick fights with the locals. Although residents face these problems, many still refuse to leave as it is a very well located development.
