Located near to the second-link highway which connects Johor to Singapore, this provides ample opportunities to those working in Johor and also in Singapore. However, Taman Perling also has its own fair share of petty crimes in the area such as people stealing drain covers within the development. The suspect was seen wearing a security guard attire and was carrying 3 drain covers wrapped in newspapers when the patrol police officers stop him, the suspect was also tested positive in a standard drugs test and was later detained.
