KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) together with its charity arm, Mah Sing Foundation (MSF) successfully raised a total of RM3.6mil for 2019, which was announced at its charity night held on Oct 10.
The funds were successfully raised from the generous donations of the foundation’s employees, business associates and partners, along with other close friends and family members of the group.
The charity night was graced by the presence of Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin as the guest of honour. In attendance were Mah Sing chairperson Tan Sri Siti Norma, group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum and MSF chairman Datuk Indera Syed Norulzaman Syed Kamarulzaman.
Norulzaman said, “This year marks the 14th year MSF was founded. The foundation had tremendous growth since its inception by giving back to the community with the support from our generous donors.
“This year alone, we have supported more than 25 organisations and schools, and 10,000 individuals were benefiting from it. I am also pleased to announce that we have raised a total of RM3.6mil in 2019.
“This could not have been achieved without the support of all donors in helping us to continue serving the community at large. We will continue to impact more lives and communities in a measurable and sustainable way.”

- Malaysia Social Research Institute

- Malaysia Spinal Injuries Association

- Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia
- Community at Heart
- Kiwanis Club of Kluang Mandarin
The three pillars advocated by the foundation include health and wellbeing charity projects, community development and education.
Mah Sing director of group strategy and operations Jane Leong said, “The needs of the targeted beneficiary need to be understood first before deploying the solutions to help them. This is extremely important as our NGO and social enterprise partners understand their wants and needs and have direct access to them.
“As such, the foundation hopes to make a bigger impact through the causes we support. We welcome any like-minded NGOs, social enterprises and corporate companies to collaborate as we believe that more sustainable impact could be achieved when the society comes together as a whole.
“Currently, we are in the midst of planning many exciting yet impactful programmes next year, especially together with the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) communities.”
