JOHOR: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) marks a significant milestone by making its first foray into the hospitality sector with the grand opening of the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin, Johor Bahru.

The hotel is operating under a franchise agreement between Mah Sing and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts aimed at catering exclusively to the different needs between business travellers and holidaymakers.

Mah Sing group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, “The grand opening of the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin marks another significant milestone for the group as we make our first foray into the hospitality sector.

“We established the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin as we saw an opportunity to cater to the travellers who came to Iskandar, whether to enjoy the entertainment the state has to offer or to explore the vast opportunities that Johor has, either for work or investment.”

Positioned at the economic corridor of the southern region, Iskandar Puteri, the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin features approximately 644 rooms, which is the largest in South East Asia in room counts under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel is the centrepiece of Meridin@Medini, a major integrated development by Mah Sing, which includes luxury condominiums, versatile office spaces and extensive retail areas.

It is only 700 meters walking distance from Legoland, Malaysia’s first international theme park. Other leading attractions include the Puteri Harbour, Iskandar Malaysia Studio as well as the Johor premium outlets. The Ramada is merely 25 minutes from the CIQ Johor Bahru and 15 minutes from CIQ Second Link.

The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, wading pool, aqua gym, indoor and outdoor fitness centre, a kid’s play area, surau, spa, and the WYN lounge. Meeting planners can choose from five flexible function rooms accommodating up to 350 guests, plus an expansive ballroom, all supported by audio-visual technology.
