Scaffolding of Ipoh pre-war building crashes onto motorist’s vehicle

Curious onlookers braving the rain to look at Kua’s vehicle that got hit by the scaffolding from a pre-war building . The incident took place on Jalan Sultan Iskandar in Ipoh.

SENIOR citizen Kuak Yen Teng had the shock of her life when the scaffolding of a pre-war building under renovation crashed onto her car during a thunderstorm.

The 67-year-old said she was on her way to the bank when it started to rain, causing her to slow down her car.

”All of a sudden, I heard a loud bang and my car was covered in netting.

”It took me a while to realise that the scaffolding from the building had fallen onto my car,” she said of the 3.15pm incident that occurred on Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Ipoh, recently.

Kuak, who managed to escape unhurt, was later rescued by passers-by. Her car was only slightly damaged.

The incident caused a 1km-long traffic jam.
