Find out if it’s really contractors' fault

PETALING JAYA: There needs to be a discussion between six blacklisted contractors and the Government to find out if it is really the contractors’ fault.

Malay Contractors Association of Malaysia president Datuk Mokstar Samad said he understood the Education Ministry’s predicament but he believes there should be room for discussion.

“You have to look into the history of the projects and find out if it is really the contractors’ fault,” he said yesterday.

Mokstar was commenting on the ministry’s action yesterday in blacklisting six contractors for failing to complete their projects.

Former president of Malay Contractors Association of Malaysia Datuk Roslan Awang Chik said the blacklisting was in line with the Government Transformation Programme and it was to solve the problem of contractors who were not performing.

Former chairman of Class F Malay Contractors Association Penang branch Abdul Wahab Hamid said the move by the Government was most likely as a lesson to errant contractors.
