With less than one year before its opening, Setia City Mall has gained the confidence of the retail market and secured all of its major retailers.
Parkson, Golden Screen Cinemas, Urbanfresh, Harvey Norman, Fitness First, Courts and Wangsa Bowl are all on board to anchor the new mall set to invigorate the Klang Valley.
Located in the Setia Alam township in Shah Alam, Setia City Mall is set to offer more than the typical retail destination.
It promises to provide shoppers with a vibrant lifestyle experience that includes diverse shopping options, an entertainment precinct, alfresco dining and outdoor facilities consisting of a park, lake, children’s playground and water jet plaza.
In addition to some of the best major retailers in Malaysia, a large and growing list of speciality retailers have also joined the project, with terms agreed for over 75% of the lettable area.
Setia City Mall is on track to achieve its vision of becoming the destination of choice for neighbourhood shopping, entertainment and park life.
Setia City Mall is being developed as a joint venture between SP Setia and the Asian Retail Investment Fund, a fund managed by the investment arm of international property developer Lend Lease.
SP Setia executive vice-president Khor Chap Jen said: “The vision for Setia Alam is the creation of a nature-inspired sanctuary and a vibrant urban hub.
“The opening of Setia City Mall will crystallise this vision and provide residents near and far with not just another retail mall, but a holistic lifestyle destination.”
Lend Lease Asia CEO Rod Leaver, said: “The signing of all its major retailers articulates the confidence the market has in Setia City Mall, and I am pleased that our enthusiasm for safety, sustainability and the quality of this project is shared by the Malaysian retail sector.
Padini Holdings Bhd managing director PC Yong added that Setia City Mall would provide shoppers with a wide range of experiences through its fantastic mix of shops, excellent outdoor facilities and strategic location.
“It will satisfy a new market catchment for retail in Malaysia,” he said.
“Our past experience with the Setia City Mall delivery team gives us great confidence in a positive outcome for the project,” said Fitness First Asia sales director Rich Hutson. The mall is slated to open in mid 2012.
