DENGUE cases are on the rise in Bukit Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh, over the last two months and this could be attributed to stagnant water due to the heavy rain recently.

With so many housing developments coming up in Taman Tiara Putra and the surrounding area, it is not uncommon to see water puddles along Jalan BRP7/1.
To make matters worse, there is even a pond located along this road where mosquito larvae could be seen in the water.
Taman Tiara Putra resident Katherine Tan said her daughter had high fever recently and she took her to a nearby clinic.
“The doctor told me that there were six cases of dengue over the last two months and suspected that my daughter could be one of them. However, we were glad when we found out later that she didn’t come down with dengue.

“I called up Selayang municipal councillor Dr Ramli Jusoh and alerted Subang MP R. Sivarasa and Selangor local government committee chairman Ronnie Liu but have not received any response from them yet,” she said.
Tan added that the developers and contractors here should be more responsible and clean up the mess.
“In fact, MPS should also monitor the situation.
“Residents here are also afraid of being bitten by mosquitoes when they take an evening jog, morning walk or even do gardening,’’ she added.
