Trees chopped for road-widening work
MOTORISTS travelling along Jalan Damansara between Damansara Kim and Taman Tun Dr Ismail would have noticed a row of felled trees near the residential area.
The trees and bushes were cleared to make way for road-widening work and to build a noise barrier wall along Jalan SS20/10.
Highway concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak) chief executive officer Sazally Saidi said the work was part of the ongoing Taman Tun Interchange upgrading project.
“We will build the noise barrier to fulfil the request from SS20 residents,” said Sazally.
He said when the wall had been put in place and the roads widened, traffic from the Sprint Highway or from Kuala Lumpur would be diverted onto the new lanes, so that work on the underpass could begin.
The underpass costing RM138mil comes under the second phase of the upgrading project by Litrak.
Work on the project is expected to be completed in late 2011.
