Man illegally rents out condo units without CFs
A TOTAL of 48 condominium units at Sri Angsana Hilir in Ampang, which have yet to be issued certificates of fitness (CFs), were rented out to more than 100 tenants.
Utusan Malaysia reported that a man known as Wak Radin acted as the head of a group that rented out each unit at RM500 monthly.
The report stated that Wak Radin also connected illegal water and electricity extensions for the condominiums.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Jalil Hassan, who conducted a raid at 4.30am on Thursday, said 180 foreigners and 12 locals were detained at the units.
He said that among those detained were Wak Radin, who rented the units to Malaysians, Indonesians and Myanmar nationals.
“Initially, only the first floor of this block was rented out.
“But it rose to the sixth floor of the building,” he said, adding that the man was believed to have earned RM62,000 from the ‘business’.
According to the daily, there were three blocks of 21-storey condominium units at Sri Angsana Hilir, with two of them occupied mainly by Malaysians.
ACP Abdul Jalil said police investigations also found that prostitution and motorcycle thefts were very common in that area.

Terengganu Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism Department chief enforcement officer Abdul Ghani Harun said, “Many weddings are expected to be held during the coming school holidays and we are willing to supply those in need.
“All we need is wedding invitation cards as evidence, and with that, it will be easier for us to supply sugar,’’ he said.
