Two more RapidBET routes starting today
SYARIKAT Prasarana Negara Bhd (Prasarana) said RapidBET3 and RapidBET4 from Subang Mewah USJ and Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam, to Pasar Seni would be operational beginning today.
RapidBET3 and 4 will operate on 15-minute intervals from 6.15am during morning peak hours and 30-minute intervals from 5.30 pm during evening peak hours.
RapidBET3 is an enhancement to the current U63 USJ 8 to Pasar Seni route, extended to Subang Mewah.
With RapidBET3, travel time is reduced by 30 minutes from the normal 80 minutes. RapidBET3 will use the KESAS and NPE highways, with seven pick-up/drop-off points compared with the normal 21.
Meanwhile, RapidBET4 is an enhancement to the current U64 from Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam to Pasar Seni. RapidBET4 will reduce travel time by 20 minutes from the usual 90 minutes. Pick up/drop off points are limited to six, compared with the usual 30.
RapidBET, which stands for Rapid Bus Express Transit, is one of the Government’s NKRA efforts to improve urban public transportation in the Klang Valley.
Introduced on Jan 12, the other two routes are RapidBET1, from Kota Damansara to Pasar Seni, and RapidBET2 from Bandar Sg Long to Pasar Seni.
The two routes are receiving good response from the public, with average ridership of some 300 passengers for RapidBET1, which only operates during morning and evening peak hours at 15-minute intervals and some 1100 passengers for RapidBET2 (which operates throughout the day on 20-minute intervals).
