Brickfields to be made one-way street

KUALA LUMPUR: Brickfields will be made into a one-way street as soon as possible.

Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said the decision to turn Jalan Tun Sambathan - the main road in Brickfields - into a one-way street would take off according to initial plans.

He also said the Little India project would begin in two weeks.

“The majority has agreed to the new traffic dispersal plan,” said Nong Chik during a dialogue session with members from some 150 non-governmental groups at the City Hall Sports Complex here yesterday.

However, he said the one-way street proposal for Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad would not go on as planned.

He added those who were still skeptical about the project could approach his special officers with new ideas.
