Team up for ventures, M’sians told
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian companies should form consortiums to take up opportunities in the infrastructure and construction sectors in India, Malaysian Associated Indian of Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Datuk K.K. Eswaran said.
He said Malaysian companies stood a better chance as they were respected in India for their dedicated work and quality standards.
Eswaran was speaking to reporters after leading a five-member delegation for discussions with visiting Indian Road Transport and Highway Minister Kamal Nath.
“We asked the minister to consider providing infrastructure projects under a government-to-government arrangement to Malaysian companies,” Eswaran said, adding that India planned to construct 7,000km of roads. annually.
“Kamal Nath also informed us that there are plans for Indian bank to resume its operations in Malaysia,” he said.
