Red, rich and warm
Selina’s master bedroom is at the end of the corridor. Unlike most corridors, this part is not left bare. The space here has been transformed into a sort of foyer, with a mirror and sewing machine being the main decorative items.
The sleeping space of the bedroom, done up in metallic-looking wallpaper, is separated from the dressing area by a translucent organza curtain, which leaves no doubt that a woman is the mistress of this place. Bottles of perfume, cosmetics, fashion accessories and items in filigree design can only conjure up visions from the pages of an old world romance novel.
Bathrooms mean more space for her to indulge in her decorating zeal.
She moved in just about two months ago, and already the place looks quite lived in. No tentative attempts at decorating for this home owner. She lives here, her favourite possessions are displayed against a red backdrop, her plants are thriving and whether it is a rented place or owner-occupied, her mark is undoubtedly here.
“When I wake up, I see and live with the things I like. It is my life, it is my house,” she says. And who’s to argue with that?

(b) Warm inviting red colour in a corner of the patio, which leads to a sitting area in the background.
(c) A glass cabinet near the dining table houses her crockery.
(d) Get set for a comfortable read.
(e) A totally feminie look in the dressing area of the master bedroom.
