OMEGA REDEFINES TIME AND LUXURY
On November 10, world renowned watchmaker OMEGA revealed its new global boutique concept at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The boutique pays tribute to the perfect craftsmanship of watchmaking with conscientious attention to quality, fine detailing and contemporary architecture, hence enhancing the shopping and brand experience in Malaysia.

Spanning over 800sq ft, the World of OMEGA brings out the best of the OMEGA brand – which has been synonymous with perfection, innovation and precision. The OMEGA timepieces on display further enhance the timeless qualities of the pioneering brand. The sophisticated, contemporary entrance of the boutique emanates a regal presence as it welcomes customers into the outlet. Hand-picked materials are carefully selected to reflect the values and vision of the brand and the interior finish of the boutique consist primarily of natural supplies with stucco walls and floors custom-made for the location and weather.
The wall cabinets are finished with “champagne gold” glass with panels decorated with OMEGA logos. The counter showcases are finished with Anigre wood that fit seamlessly with the glass. Bright warm lights illuminate the store, depicting dazzling sunrays that accentuate the refined craftsmanship of OMEGA’s timepieces and glittery jewellery pieces on display. The crafted marble flooring brilliantly gives a luxurious finishing to the room.

Timeless reflection of natural elements
The OMEGA Pavilion boutique is the brand’s latest foray into the Malaysian market and the striking exterior of the boutique is reminiscent of the philosophies behind their design, conceived around the themes of four natural elements – the sun, water, earth and, of course, time. Japanese architect Kazuo Adachi, together with his partner Hiroshi Yamashita of design Fresco Inc., designed the concept for the OMEGA boutique.
The brilliant lighting illuminating the products in the show window represents the sun’s rays. A stroke pattern above the displays cast shadows and reflect light; a perfect depiction of clouds gathering water to generate rain. Vertical tracks express rainfall; the rain, in turn, symbolises time which is never still and never returns in exactly the same form. Finally, below the displays, chiseled and silvered glass suggests an exposed cross section of the earth, which reveals a history of time.

According to OMEGA Southeast Asia vice president David Ponzo, the entire concept of the boutique powerfully but subtly suggests time’s special qualities. It flows without interruption in one direction and is ever-changing.
“The strengthening of our market presence in Malaysia was a matter of time and coupled with the right opportunity, the reopening launch of our Pavilion boutique is a significant milestone for us. We are revealing the new global boutique concept and at the same time solidifying our brand’s presence here. With this boutique, we can better serve our customers and accommodate their discerning needs. This will enhance the brand’s positioning and prestige as we can fulfill a higher level of service and quality for our customers. This level of personalised service is a hallmark of the brand.
“Furthermore, we are heartened by the Malaysian government’s efforts to energise the tourism industry and promote Malaysia as a shopping haven in Asia. Other incentives to attract investors and encourage foreign direct investment are favourable to global brands like us. We look forward to establishing a solid foundation in luxury watches here,” says Ponzo.
Inside the OMEGA boutique
When visitors enter the OMEGA boutique, they will be greeted by staffs who are specialists in the 161-year-old watchmaker’s product line. Guests can view the products undisturbed and at an unhurried pace at a discreet corner of the boutique.
At one side of the sales area are the special displays featuring OMEGA’s brand ambassadors and selections from the Fine Jewellery and on the other side is the Fine Leather collection. Many of these products are available exclusively at OMEGA boutiques. There are also presentations dedicated to special launches and seasonal products.
