CORPORATE PROFILE
The Hermès name now appears on 14 different groups of products: Leather, Scarves, Ties, Men’s and Women’s Ready-to-Wear, Perfume, Watches, Diaries, Hats, Gloves, Footwear, Enamel, Art of Living, Tableware, and Jewellery.
In March 2006, after twenty-eight years at the helm of Hermès, Jean-Louis Dumas, a fifth-generation member of the Hermès family, stepped down as Chief Executive of the company. He has been replaced by Patrick Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Hermès International, while Pierre-Alexis Dumas, his son, and Pascale Mussard, his niece, both sixth-generation family members, have been appointed Co-Artistic Directors.
Under the Hermès umbrella, 26 subsidiaries operate stores all over the world and distribute products made by the four production units: Hermès Sellier, Hermès Parfums, La Montre Hermès, and La Table Hermès. These subsidiaries are located in Europe (Benelux, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland), in North and South America (Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, USA), in Asia (China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macao, Taiwan), in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) and in Oceania (Australia).
The full range of products designed and made under the control of the Hermès brand is sold through a network of 264 stores and 39 other retail outlets. An original interior design policy blending Hermès tradition with the best of modern artistry ensures that each of these outlets expresses the House spirit while remaining in harmony with its cultural setting.
On 17 January 2008, Hermès celebrated the opening of its second store in Kuala Lumpur, in the luxurious Pavilion shopping centre and residential building not far from the Petronas Towers and the location of their first store in Kuala Lumpur – Suria KLCC.
A few words about Hermès
At Hermès, passion for the future and respect for the past come together to define an ideal that we make it our daily duty to honour in our designs and craftsmanship. Tradition, innovation and excellence dictate that we ensure the eye is always charmed by elegance, the nose delighted by suave perfumes and the skin caressed by sensuous fabrics.
Our great ally in this task is time; the time for our craftsmen to realize the full potential of their materials, and for our customers to appreciate the magic of our creations.
This undertaking would be a hazardous one were it not for the outstanding skill of the men and women who work with us. At Hermès, dozens, hundreds, of creative minds and hands are at work, all with the same attention to detail, doing everything from preparing the raw material to delicately folding the paper in the orange box.
All this is now reflected in the opening of our second store in Kuala Lumpur, which has been made possible by the commitment of every man and woman who has worked on this project, from the architect to the sales staff.
We are delighted to share this new adventure with you and our future clients.
