The world première of the sequel to the Da Vinci Code will take place in Rome on 4 May

Milan, 31 March 2009 – Brioni dresses Tom Hanks and Stellan Skarsgard.
Tom Hanks was chosen to play the Harvard symbology professor Robert Langdon: The Da Vinci Code came out in 2006 and, three years later, its sequel, Angels and Demons, is nearly ready. Tom Hanks ― two-time Academy Award Winner ― and Stellan Skarsgård, the other face in the film directed by Ron Howard, will have at their disposal a special wardrobe: Brioni’s made-to-measure line.

Robert Langdon dons both formalwear and mix-and-match jackets and trousers in the most turbulent scenes, where the expert of esoteric mystery is intent on resolving a case of homicide and saving the Vatican from a terrorist attack. The jackets and suits are custom made by Brioni tailors who are used to dressing actors and actresses both on set and in their private lives.

The movie was filmed in Los Angeles and Rome and the typically Italian atmosphere once again underlines Brioni’s role as world ambassador of male elegance. Also taking place in Rome will be the première, on 4 May, at which Ron Howard, the film’s director will be wearing a Brioni dinner jacket.

For the film Sony recreated some of the rooms of the Sistine Chapel in its Hollywood studios and the same set has been used by Brioni for one of the most exclusive and enchanting photo shoots in the history of cinema and fashion: Michelangelo’s masterpiece, a universal symbol of Italian genius, has played backdrop to the most sophisticated Roman tailored garments.
